What can I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit is a 75-minute evaluation where we'll discuss your symptoms, health history, goals, and concerns. I'll also perform a hands-on assessment to identify areas of tension, muscle guarding, fascial restrictions, scar tissue restrictions, movement patterns, and nervous system responses that may be contributing to your symptoms.

You'll leave with a better understanding of what your body is holding, why your symptoms may be occurring, and a personalized plan of care.

02

Do I have to have an internal exam?

No. Internal assessment and treatment are always your choice.
Many women find the internal assessment helpful because it allows me to directly assess pelvic floor muscle tension and coordination. However, we can accomplish a great deal through external assessment and treatment if you are not comfortable with internal work.

03

What is vaginal mapping?

Vaginal mapping is a gentle assessment used to identify areas of tension, tenderness, muscle guarding, sensitivity, or restriction within the pelvic floor muscles.

During the assessment, I use a gloved finger to gently evaluate different areas of the pelvic floor and vaginal tissues while checking for comfort, muscle tension, coordination, and your body's response to touch and pressure.

Many women are surprised to discover that certain areas of the pelvic floor may be holding tension without them even realizing it. Vaginal mapping helps us better understand where your body may be protecting, guarding, or holding stress so we can create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

This assessment can be especially helpful for women experiencing:
* Painful sex
* Vaginismus
* Pain during gynecological exams
* Difficulty using tampons
* Pelvic pain or pressure
* Birth preparation concerns
* Persistent pelvic floor tension

Your comfort is always the priority. Vaginal mapping is completely optional, and you are in control throughout the entire process.

Do you offer Mercier Therapy for women trying to conceive?

Yes. I am trained in Mercier Therapy, a gentle, hands-on approach that improves pelvic mobility, circulation, and organ function. It’s especially supportive for women navigating fertility challenges, pelvic pain, or recovery from gynecological surgeries.

05

How do I know if my pelvic floor is too tight?

Common signs of a tight pelvic floor include:
  1. Pain with penetration or sex
  2. Difficulty using tampons
  3. Pain during gynecological exams
  4. Tailbone pain
  5. Constipation or difficulty emptying
  6. Pelvic pain or pressure
  7. Urinary urgency or frequency
  8. Difficulty relaxing during labor preparation

Many women are surprised to learn that pelvic floor muscles can be overactive and tense rather than weak.

06

What is the Pelvic Unwinding Method?

Pelvic Unwinding is my signature approach to helping women release tension held within the pelvic floor and surrounding tissues.
Many women are told to strengthen their pelvic floor when what they actually need is to learn how to relax it.

By combining hands-on treatment, movement, breathwork, body awareness, and nervous system support, I help women identify where their body is holding tension and teach them how to let go.

Pelvic Unwinding is commonly used to support women experiencing painful sex, difficulty with pelvic exams, pelvic tension, and those preparing for labor and birth.

Do you take insurance?

Her Pelvic Health is a cash-based practice and does not bill insurance directly.
Payment is due at the time of service. Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
