Meet the founder

Hi, im Cherra!

Hi! I'm Cherra Kay, MS, OTR/L and over the years, I've worked with hundreds of women who have been told to "just relax" when it comes to painful sex, pelvic exams, or birth preparation.

The problem is that nobody ever taught them how!

One of the most common things I find is a pelvic floor that is holding too much tension. When the body feels stressed, threatened, or protective, it often responds by tightening.

Over time, that tension can show up as pain with intimacy, difficulty with penetration, discomfort during exams, or fear surrounding birth.

My work focuses on helping women understand where their body is holding tension and teaching them how to release it. Through hands-on therapy, nervous system support, movement, and education, I help women build trust in their bodies and feel more comfortable, connected, and confident.

Because when your body feels safe, it no longer has to work so hard to protect itself.

How My Approach Works

I look at how your pelvic floor, nervous system, breath, movement patterns, and life experiences may be working together to create tension and guarding within the body.

One of the most common things I find is that women have never been taught how to feel, relax, and lengthen their pelvic floor muscles.

That's why my work combines hands-on treatment, nervous system support, movement, and body awareness to help women understand what their body is holding and learn how to let it go.

Because lasting change doesn't come from forcing the body. It comes from helping the body feel safe enough to move differently.

My work has been influenced by Tami Lynn Kent, PT, Dr. Jennifer Mercier, ND, Lindsey Vestal, OT, and Lynn Schulte, PT— each of whom expanded the way I understand the female body.

Through their teachings, I learned to look beyond symptoms and become curious about the relationship between the pelvic floor, nervous system, movement patterns, breath, and the protective strategies women carry in their bodies.

That perspective continues to shape my Pelvic Unwinding approach and the way I help women release tension, restore comfort, and build trust in their bodies.

How My Approach Works

Pelvic Unwinding

My Pelvic Unwinding Method

Pelvic Unwinding is my signature approach to helping women release tension held within the pelvic floor and surrounding tissues.

By combining hands-on treatment, movement, breathwork, nervous system support, and body awareness, I help women identify where their body is holding tension and create the conditions for it to let go.

The goal isn't to force change. The goal is to help the body feel safe enough to soften, adapt, and move differently.
